Wild Thread Coffee Co. started with two friends, a backpacking trip through South America, and a growing obsession with how coffee connects people. What began as small-batch roasting in Cape Town evolved into a specialty coffee brand built around craft, sustainability, and human connection. The challenge was creating a visual identity that felt premium without becoming cold, expressive without losing structure, and globally inspired while still rooted in Africa.

Wild Thread’s palette is rooted in African landscapes and coffee craft: warm roasted browns, sun‑faded terracottas, deep greens, and muted neutrals. The system is built to feel tactile, premium, and human — colours that read as handcrafted in print and richly textured on screen.

 

Headlines use Supersonic Rocketship — a bold, urban display font that demands attention. For body copy, the Montserrat family provides a clean, approachable contrast: Montserrat Bold for sub-headings, Regular for readable text, and Light for fine print. The tone is confident yet welcoming, avoiding all‑caps “yelling” while still making a strong statement.

A standout element is the custom illustrated pattern where coffee beans become characters — travellers, outlaws, explorers, workers, and storytellers. These illustrations add movement, humour, and humanity while reinforcing that every coffee has a story and every customer becomes part of the journey.

Photography direction focused on real textures, natural lighting, and honest moments instead of over-styled product imagery. Layouts use space confidently, allowing the brand to breathe. The system was built to stay consistent while still allowing room for expression.

The final identity gives Wild Thread a recognisable presence across physical and digital spaces. It feels premium without losing warmth. It feels expressive without becoming chaotic. And most importantly, it feels human. The brand now has a flexible visual system ready to scale into cafés, retail shelves, and international markets while staying connected to the spirit it started with.
